All By Myself

Hello! How’s everyone? I’ve been MIA from this blog for a week because of work and also because I got sick last Thursday. It’s the first time for me to get sick since I arrived here in Melbourne which was 8 months ago. Last Thursday when I woke up I already felt sick but still went to work. At work, I told my officemate how I was feeling and he suggested that I drink lemon juice because that’s what he was doing ever since and he never got sick. So Thursday night, I drank some lemon juice and the next morning I felt much better, my sore throat was gone and I thought to myself that was it… but I was wrong. Sunday morning I woke up and the sore throat was back and it hurts every time I cough. I didn’t feel like eating anything but I knew I had to before I drink any medicine. After breakfast, I Skype-d with my boyfriend for awhile then drank some medicine before taking a nap. I wanted to regain my energy because I had to do some chores like iron my clothes for the work week and cook my baon as well. Around 12 noon I woke up and cooked lunch which was also going to be my baon for the next day. Again, I didn’t want to eat anything so I just washed the dishes and went back to lie down in my bed until around 2:30pm. By that time I got ready to hear mass at 4:30pm and after the mass went to the supermarket to buy medicine for my sore throat because all that I had with me was Neozep, Biogesic and Solmux which didn’t help at all. I bought Lemsip which was like powdered Lemon Juice. My parents especially my Dad swore that if I take one I’d feel much better the next day. I took one before going to bed last night but I still feel sick today and decided not to go to work.

Hope It Works!

It sucks to be all by myself and be sick at the same time. Anyways, I’m off to prepare my breakfast and drink some Lemsip again. I hope I feel much better tomorrow!

Wow, 2 blog posts in a week! I’m on a roll! :)

Did you know that I don’t own a digital camera? Yup! That’s right! I don’t own a digital camera. I do actually share with my sister and my boyfriend. What I mean by share is that my sister and I shared to buy a camera and the same goes with my boyfriend. I realized that I could’ve bought my own camera if I didn’t shared with my sister and boyfriend! Haha! It’s kind of a hassle sharing a digital camera so I’ve been thinking of buying my own camera as a birthday gift for myself. While searching for the perfect camera, I came across the Canon D7 camera. So what’s so special about this camera? Well, the Canon D7 has 18 megapixels which for me translates as super clear pictures (or maybe I’m wrong). I’ve also seen some sample video shots on Youtube and they didn’t have any noise whatsoever. It’s as if they we’re shot with a professional video camera. More research about this camera and I discovered that it was used on shooting some scenes in Black Swan.

I’m not really a DSLR type of person but this is seriously making me think twice :)

Hard To Concentrate

Lately, I’ve been watching same day edit (SDE) wedding videos. On one particular video, the videographer used the song Hard To Concentrate by Red Hot Chili Peppers. I thought to myself that it was a pretty interesting genre to use in a wedding video. It was also the first time I heard of that song so I did a quick Google search for the lyrics. The lyrics of the song is really sentimental and meaningful. Here’s my favorite lines from the song:

And finally you have found something perfect
And finally you have found yourself
With me
Will you agree to take this man into your world
And now we are as one

Because of this, it got me started to search for other songs that could be played in a wedding. Here’s the list so far:

  1. Colbie Caillat – I Do
  2. Itchyworms – Gusto Ko Lamang Sa Buhay
  3. Uncle Kracker – Smile
  4. Snow Patrol – Just Say Yes
  5. Coldplay – Sparks

Do you have any other suggestions? Leave it in the comments! :)

Test Post

Hi there! This is just a test post using w.bloggar. Basically, this application lets me creates blog entries (or edit) while I’m offline but of course internet connection is required to publish entries on your weblog. It also supports other platforms like Blogger, Movable Type, LiveJournal etc. Best of all is that it’s freeware :) Sorry to say that this is only available to Windows users. I’m sure there are other tools like this for MacOS or Linux. Off to discover other functionalities of this tool.

Side note: After much hesitations, I finally disabled my Plurk page. The extra page was really annoying! I’ve also made minor updates to the profile page and I’ve also moved my blog posts from my other blog to this blog. I’m trying to minimize online accounts/blogs that I need to maintain. I’m still not sure what to do with the other domain/blog, so for now will just leave it as a blank page. :)
